Water treatment units (water softening units) ensure the uninterrupted operation of steam boilers (steam generators). In any case, expenses to the water treatment and water cleaning are less than the cost of a damage repairing the steam-boiler unit. Water softener units remove hardness salts from the water for further use in water-heating boilers and steam-boilers. Ion exchange makes it possible to remove hardness cations such as Са^2⁺ from water. Water passes through a layer of ion exchange resin, calcium Са^2⁺ ions and magnesium MgM^2⁺ ions are replaced by sodium Na⁺ ions after which the water is converted from hard to soft. The water treatment units WTU are estimated individually based on the required capacity and scope of application.
